In this day, its pretty common for people to have all sorts of devices. From laptops to desktops to smartphones to tablets to smartwatches and even smart homes, its not unusual for people to have more tech than they can easily list off. So you would think that all of these devices would be a bit more compatible with each other, to please the consumer.
And yet, getting all your gadgets to work together the way you want them to can be a much bigger headache than it should be sometimes. It doesnt have to be, though. Heres one example: as a Mac user, how do you extend your desktop or use Airplay through your Google Chromecast device? This article will look at a fairly simple way to get this setup working right now.
Normally a Mac wont let you cast your whole desktop or a Google Chrome browser tab with a Chromecast devicenot natively, anyway. Youll need another application to get those parts to play together.
Not only does AirParrot 2 let you extend your desktop, but can also share a single app to whatever device your Chromecast is connected to, where you can listen to audio tracks playing on your Mac, or cast media files directly from your Mac to your Chromecast device.
How Do I Connect My iPhone To My TV With An Hdmi Cable
Hooking your phone up to your TV with a wired HDMI connection isnt as convenient as casting from your phone to the TV, but wired connections do offer a more reliable streaming experience.
The simplest way to physically connect your iPhone to your TV is to use an HDMI cable from your phone to your TVs HDMI port. Youll need an iPhone-to-HDMI cable adapter to connect the HDMI cable to your iOS device. Its called a Lightning Digital AV Adapter. You can get it direct from Apple for $49.99 or a bit cheaper .
The above Amazon link will also show you some third-party knockoffs priced as low as $13.99. Apple, of course, always recommends that you buy its products for optimal compatibility, but the third-party versions will get the job done and save you a good chunk of change. Just make sure it supports High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection .
Amazon.com Price $43.19 . Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon.com at the time of purchase will apply to the purchase of this product. CableTV.com utilizes paid Amazon links.
Pro Tip: HDCP is an anti-pirating measure implemented by many streaming providers. If the adapter doesnt support this protocol, you cant play content from several streaming services.

Of course, if you want to mirror your phones display to your Chromecast, youll need a bit more setup than the typical Chromecast application. While most users will get more out of using the standard Chromecast mirroring optionthat is to say, using an app with built-in Cast functionality as described aboveyou might want to mirror your phone for use with an app that doesnt support Casting, like Apple Photos, in order to display that content on your television.
As youve probably guessed, theres no native way to mirror your phone to Chromecast, the way you can using Airplay and an Apple TV. That said, you arent out of luck just yet. In fact, its easier than ever to mirror from iOS to your television, but to do it, youll need to turn to the App Store.

Cast Android To Apple TV
As said earlier, well be needing a third-party app to cast an Android device to Apple TV. Well be using AllCast as an example, but feel free to use any of your choices. Were using AllCast because it is the least buggy and stutter-free streaming app for casting an Android device to Apple TV.
Note: You cannot mirror your devices screen onto the Apple TV using AllCast. But it surely does a great job at doing what it claims.
Must See:
You could also try similar services like Mirroring360, which costs more and wont let you cast to Apple TV with tvOS 10. Android and Apple are the two leading digital ecosystems. These companies could work together in at least things like these for making things easy for the end-user. We hope you found this guide helpful. Mirroring Apps For Ios
Prior to 2020, mirroring from iOS to Chromecast was a mess. You had to mirror from your phone to a third-party app on your Mac or PC, then from there, you could mirror your desktop using Chrome back to your television. It was buggy, unintuitive, and a bad experience all around. Thankfully, this year has finally brought us a number of options for mirroring directly, including a fantastic choice in Replica.
Available for free on the App Store, Replica is a screen mirroring app that launched in January 2020, and its by far the best method for mirroring your iPhone or iPad to your Chromecast. Not only does it support audio on its free tierwhich most similar apps that also feature Chromecast mirroring support only on their paid tierbut you can get it set up in just a few easy steps.
After installing Replica on your device, open the app on your phone and accept any necessary permissions to get started. Once youre ready to start casting, Replica will search your WiFi network for any Chromecast devices currently being hosted. Just select your Chromecast device from the list available, hit the Start Mirroring button. Your iPhone will use the screen recording feature built into iOS to start streaming right to your television.

Dvr Spot Monitor Output
The traditional way to setup security camera viewing on a TV is to connect the spot monitor output of the DVR to one of the analog video inputs of the TV monitor. Analog video inputs on TV sets typically use an RCA type input. A coaxial cable is run from the BNC spot output of the DVR to the RCA video input of the TV.
When the user wants to see their cameras, they simply switch the TV to the video input that the spot monitor is connected to. This is a very convenient method for viewing, but sometimes no so convenient to setup because running the coax cable is difficult or not possible at all. Below is a diagram that shows a DVR with multiple spot monitor outputs connected to multiple TVs. You can learn more about spot monitor setup here and you can see a demo video and additional wiring diagrams here.

If you want to broadcast it to a big-screen TV, then you might want to consider something a little more power to get a 1080 HD picture. Zwiftalizer is a great tool that can provide you with some benchmarks and information on how your system will run Zwift.
What You Need:
- Bluetooth Compatible Smart Bike Trainer. If you bought your trainer in the past couple of years, then its probably Bluetooth compatible.
- A personal computer with enough power to run Zwift. A 2014 Mac Mini with SSD hard drive is what Ive been using and had no issues running Zwift in 1080 HD. For Windows, will do a great job and at a good price.
- ANT+ Stick. This plugs into computers USB port and receives ANT+ signal.
Some Mac Laptops dont have an HDMI cable, so you will need a adapter. Check your laptop ports.

Chromebooks Work With Apple TV For Screen Sharing
April 3, 2017 By Robby Payne
Walled gardens. They make beautiful things but they insist that you stay in them.
Everyone is guilty to an extent, but Apple is clearly the front-runner when it comes to proprietary hardware and software.
Lets be clear: Im not saying they are wrong or bad for this approach. I prefer the more open approach of horizontal software stuff that works on all sorts of platforms.
Its the reason I was able to write the piece yesterday about using a iPad a little bit now. My Google apps and services are available in lots of places and in lots of ways. That idea makes me happy.
Apple, on the other hand, has crafted a very well-integrated software and hardware ecosystem that unapologetically insists that you stay within the Apple family of products to really get any use out of it. When inside those walls, however, the seamless operation is impressive.
Again, not my cup of tea, but I see their reasoning.
Apple TV vs. Chromecast
One device Ive always thought Apple could benefit from opening up is Apple TV. Before Chromecast hit the market, it was an enviable thing to be able to share your screen quickly with a simple tap of a button.
I remember wanting that function for some time.
After all, my Macbook-touting co-workers can share their screen to the Chromecast.
But that changes with the arrival of AirParrot 2.
