    Your power source is working, and your TV is on, but nothing is showing on the screen. In this case, the external source could be the problem and not your TV. First, check your HDMI cable. Maybe its not connected correctly or it might be broken.

    Unplug the cable and plug it back in again after a couple of seconds. If nothing changes, consider replacing your HDMI cable.

    Smart Hub Does Not Display Any Apps

    Samsung TV uses the Smart Hub as its primary menu system. It holds all the apps and settings.

    There have been cases of apps disappearing from the Smart Hub. Despite navigating everywhere, you cant find the app. If this happens to you, heres how you can fix the problem.

    First, you can try switching the TV back to your original settings.

    • Press the Smart Hub key on the remote control.
    • Once the Smart Hub loads, press the following keys: fast forward, 2, 8, 9, and rewind.
    • Choose another location in the Setup list, then Accept the Terms and Conditions.
    • The Smart Hub will update and reset.
    • Then repeat the steps, and switch back to your location.

    If the problem is still there, you need to do a Factory Reset.

    • You may access the Factory Reset functions under the Self-Diagnostics Menu in the Support Settings. It will be located at the bottom.
    • Youll be asked to enter your security PIN, which is 0000 by default.
    • Confirm your actions, and your TV will reset to its state from the factory.

    Factory Reset Your TV

    If youve tried all of the above steps and youre still having volume issues or your volume is getting stuck, its time to factory reset your Samsung TV.

    A factory reset is different from the power cycling step above in that it hard resets your television back to its original factory settings. All of your TVs information and settings will be erased.

    Thats why this step is further down the list of things to try.

    But at a highlevel you want to get to Settings > Support > Self Diagnosis and then Reset.

    Find The Bad Capacitors On Your Board

    On power board pictured above, I have indicated which capacitors you should be examining for signs of failure. These Capacitors are Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors, and are the most likely cause of your problem. The capacitors with the green arrows are the most likely candidates for being bad, but the blue arrow are other capacitors to examine.

    Don’t worry if your board looks a little different. Simply examine all of the capacitors and usually the faulty one stand out.

    Warning: Do not bother with the large capacitors . These are high voltage, rarely fail and for safety require a little more expertise to work on.

    Your board probably looks different, that’s OK, just examine any and all capacitors on your board that look similar to ones pointed out above.

    The pictures above are actual closeups of my TV’s board. Notice how the blue capacitors in the foreground are bulging. These are the capacitors I will replace. All other capacitors look OK. If you can find replacements for all 4 of these capacitors, and any others that show visual signs of going bad, I recommend replacing them all while your in here.

    Smart Remote Forced Pairing

    If you have a smart remote control that was previously paired with another TV, or for some reason, your TV has lost contact with the remote control, you need to re-pair the remote and your TV. For this, you need to place the remote next to the TV, we recommend placing your remote at a distance of about 10-15 inches and conduct forced pairing. Note, that the order of further actions depends on your TV model .
