Spectrum Will Increase TV Fees In March

Spectrum TV customers will see an increase in their bills, beginning next month. On March 18, 2022, Spectrum will be increasing broadcast TV fees and equipment fees.

With the price hike, equipment fees will go up by $1 per month while broadcast TV fees will go up by just over $3 per month. Spectrum gave customers notice of the update in the following message.

As of 3/18/2022, there will be changes to Spectrum services, equipment, fees and surcharges where applicable:

• Broadcast TV Surcharge will increase to $21.00
• Equipment fees for HD Boxes will increase from $8.99 to $9.99

Syracuse, N.Y. — Spectrum customers will soon be paying more for cable television.

The company has notified customers that, starting March 18, it will raise its monthly broadcast TV fee $3, from $18 to $21.Its a monthly fee thats grown 9 times as costly since it was first imposed in 2014.

Spectrum will also raise its monthly equipment fee $1, from $8.99 to $9.99, for each HD receiver.

In addition, the company is reducing the TV bundle discounts customers are receiving. The largest percentage of affected customers will see an increase of less than $5 a month on their bills because of that change, according to the company.

For new customers who are paying a promotional price for their Spectrum TV, Internet or Voice plan, the higher regular plan price will not take effect until the end of the promotional period.

Spectrum spokesperson Lara Pritchard said the company is passing on higher fees charged by TV programmers.

TV programmers continue to raise fees annually to carry their content, driving higher costs across the entire industry, she said in a statement. As a direct result of the growing cost of programming from the TV networks we carry, we are passing through these increased fees to viewers.
