Checking Your Smart TV Signal Strength
If you still have the issue after trying another network or dont have another available, you may have an issue with the signal strength you are receiving from your router to the device.
To check your Samsung Smart TVs signal strength:
- Use your TV remote to navigate to Settings.
- Click on General> Network> Open Network Settings> Wireless.
- Check the number of wifi bars showing on your TV.
If youre currently seeing full bars, then your issues are likely elsewhere and well need to keep looking. If youre seeing one or two bars for your connection, you may need to navigate your router closer or install an expansion router to get a better connection to your TV. Connecting My Samsung TV To The Internet
Hi, I’m trying to connect my SAMSUNG smart tv to the internet via my BT router, I’ve got connection through Google chrome but it won’t open the pages fully, e.g. E-BAY or YOU TUBE even after refresh. Could it it be that my BT router is not giving a strong enough signal to complete the connection, the signal has to pass to another room, and would one of the BT “discs” boost the signal to help?

How To Connect Samsung Smart TV To Wifi Or Internet Network
Ensuring you have your network connected properly is crucial when youre setting up a smart TV. Luckily, Samsung made it very easy to navigate and set up your Samsung Smart TVs wifi for the first time!
- Grab your remote and navigate to the Settings.
- Select the General option, and then select Network.
- Click on Open NetworkSettings.
- Select your Wifi network from the list.
- If prompted, enter your network password.
- Select Done, then OK.
If youve already set up your network connection in the past, you may also need to do a reset of your network settings. Home network configurations and settings can change over the span of owning the TV, so sometimes your TV needs a network refresh in order to keep up.
Check Network Signal Strength
If your Samsung Smart TV keeps losing internet connection, you should navigate to Settings > General > Network > Open Network Settings > Wireless and check how many bars the network has. If there are just 1 0r 2 bars or it keeps fluctuating, you may not have a stable connection. In such a case, your TV will connect to the network but you wont be able to stream or load anything from the internet. This is normal if the router is placed behind many walls. Try to move the router closer to your Samsung TV or use a WiFi repeater to strengthen the signal.

What Prevents Samsung TV From Connecting To The Wifi
According to my research and assumption, the core cause of the error is unidentified and they may be a chance of may reasons. Due to the extensive reason. I have only listed only some highly notable reasons that are:
- Outdated Firmware: All apps wont work properly if your television is not updated for a while or for a long time. Television firmware needs a day to day update to work all function.
- General Bug: There is some kind of bug in the Samsung tv. Many users reported tv work slower. Sometimes TV connects to WiFi 10-15 late.
- Mac address blocked: When your TVs mac address is blocked from the router. However, if the mac filter is enabled on router or mode. You should check for your TV mac address is listed or not.
- Incorrect DNS configuration: If you are using a public DNS server but entered the wrong DNS address on the network configuration. Incorrect DNS prevents internet connectivity even if Wi-Fi is connected.
Troubleshooting Your Internet Connection
The easiest way to test out if the issue is your network and not your TV is to try connecting your Samsung TV to another working network. If you currently have two networks available in your house, you can attempt to login to a second network through the Samsung TV and check to see if the connection works. If it does, then it looks like your issue is with the specific network connection you initially tried to connect to.

Is Wifi Direct Flexible On My Samsung Smart TVs
One of the most significant advantages is that Wi-Fi Direct can handle significantly more data at significantly faster speeds than Bluetooth approximately ten times the rate in perfect settings.
Because of this improvement, Wi-Fi Direct is an excellent alternative when a peer-to-peer connection is required to transfer data-rich material, such as a high-resolution image or a video or when a Wi-Fi network is unavailable.
In situations when there is no Wi-Fi network to function as a go-between for android devices, one of the most notable advantages of Wi-Fi Direct is how adaptable it can be.
It is possible for multiple devices to connect to link together and share essential files in both casual and desperate situations, without the security concerns associated with connecting to a hub or central network first.
When a device supports Wi-Fi Direct, you can typically tell because when you search for it, it will appear with a wireless network of its own, which is usually one that begins with DIRECT and is followed by a product name or number, as shown below.

When Your TV Is Upstairs Use A Powerline
TV upstairs or in another room from your router? It doesn’t mean you can’t watch Netflix or iPlayer.
The further away you are from your router, the weaker the signal becomes. But you can extend the reach of your home network for smoother streaming with a powerline kit.
A powerline kit includes 2 adapters and 2 Ethernet cables. Once the adapters are plugged into power sockets and your router, the internet signal is sent down your electricity cables.
Benefits of powerline
- It delivers a strong internet connection upstairs or through thick walls
- You will extend the internet to the far corners of your home
- easy to set up
- Plug the first powerline adapter into a socket in the same room as your router
- Wse an Ethernet cable to connect the adapter to your broadband router
- Plug the second powerline adapter into a socket in the same room as your Smart TV
- Then plug an Ethernet cable into the Ethernet port on your Smart TV
- Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to your powerline adapter
How fast is your broadband? Watching online video is the main benefit of Smart TV.
The faster your broadband the better quality your catch-up TV, series binges and movie nights will be.
Particularly if your Smart TV is also 4K UHD. Netflix and Amazon stream a selection of movies and TV shows in 4K.
Super-fast broadband will give you the best possible regular streaming experience and its near-essential for 4K steaming.
