Is Screen Mirroring And Casting The Same Thing
You may be wondering what the difference between screen mirroring and casting is.Simply put, casting the content is not displayed by the casting device, but only by the receiving device. Screen mirroring, on the other hand, lets you display the exact content on both the transmitting and receiving devices.
Screencasting from your Android device to your TV without the use of Chromecast lets you watch popular streaming services like Netflix and YouTube on your TV. How To : Mirror An Android Screen Wirelessly Using The Google Home App
With the Google Home app, you can connect your Android screen to your Smart TV. If you own a Chromecast or have an Android TV with Chromecast built-in, you will be able to use this method.
There’s An Easier Way But It Depends On Your Phone
Using the Home app isn’t a lot of work, but there’s an even easier way: Use the Casting shortcut in the quick settings panel. Access the quick settings panel by swiping down from the top of your Android phone or tablet’s display. There should be an option labeled Screen cast — if you can’t find it, you may have to tap on the pencil icon to edit what is and isn’t available in your quick settings panel.
Once you find the Screen cast button, select it and then pick the device you want to mirror your display on from the list. It can take a few seconds for your phone to connect to the Chromecast-enabled device, but once it does, your screen will show up on your TV. Stop casting by repeating the same steps we just outlined.
Want to show off your photos? Mirror your screen.

The App Youll Need: Localcast
As you probably know, you can use Google Photos to get photos and video from your phone to your TV with its built-in casting option. On Android, you can also use this to cast locally stored movies from your phone to your TV by jumping into the Device Folders menu, then finding your movie.
The thing is, this is far from the ideal app for this sort of situation. Sure, itll work in a pinch, but in my experience, the video was very choppy, and Google Photos didnt support a lot of the common codecs youll see in ripped and downloaded movies. Thankfully, theres a much better option available for both iOS and Android: LocalCast.
The app is freely available for both iOS and Android, though it does offer in-app purchases to remove ads and unlock more features. The free app itself is pretty powerful on its own though.
So if youre looking to stream more than just locally-stored pictures and videos, you can step your casting game up with LocalCast. This is a super useful app that will allow you to cast any media on your device including pictures, videos, or musicas well as cloud content from Google Drive, Dropbox, and even Instagram . It also has network support for casting from network-attached storage, and a built-in web browser for casting videos from the web. This makes it a great choice for movies, because it doesnt matter where you have them stored.

Cable Types: The Speed Factor
HDMI 1.4 and 2.0 don’t matter nearly as much as their speed ratings, also defined by the HDMI Forum and HDMI Licensing Administrator. Those specifications touch on speeds with their maximum bandwidths, but they don’t specifically define every cable. That’s why HDMI cables are grouped together under one of four speed categories: Standard, High Speed, Premium High Speed, and Ultra High Speed.
Each category has its own sub-categories based on additional features like an Ethernet channel built into the cable or a stronger signal for automotive use, but the main label you should worry about is whether your cable is Standard, High Speed, Premium, or Ultra High Speed.
Standard is the most basic, and slowest, HDMI cable you can get. It has a bandwidth of 4.95Gbps, which is enough to send a 1080p signal to your TV, but not much more than that. Standard HDMI cables are rare to find in stores, but if you find an unmarked cable in a bucket somewhere, or hooked up to a home theater system that hasn’t been upgraded in five years, it might be Standard. These cannot support 4K video at all.
How To Use Miracast Screen From Android
As we already mentioned, Miracast is available on devices with Android 4.2 or above. Of course, the devices also need to have the appropriate hardware to support Miracast technology, which means that if your phone is an old device that was updated to the latest versions of Android, it might not support it, as the hardware is still old.
Now, having said that, here is how one can use Miracast screen from Android.
Step 1: open your devices settings screen – the Settings app on your phone. Under the Device section, tap Display. Then, scroll down until you see Cast Screen, which you will tap then.
Step 2: after that, you will need to tap the menu button at the top of your screen, where a pop-up will appear, and you will then select Enable Wireless Display.
After that, your phone will scan any available Miracast devices nearby and display them in a list under the Cast Screen.
Step 3: now, once you see your preferred receiver has been found, just tap on it to begin casting your screen. You will receive a notification as an indication when youre mirroring your screen.
Step 4: If you want to stop casting your screen, just pull down the notification at the top of your screen and tap Disconnect.

Another way to view content from an Android device on TV is through Casting. Screen Mirroring and Casting are similar, but there are differences including:
