How To Watch The Free Apple TV+ Shows
The TV app is the exclusive destination for Apple TV+, but the TV app is a little confusing because it blends together purchasable TV shows and movies from the iTunes Store, which you can buy or rent, the integration of content from other apps like Amazon Prime and Disney+, and Apple TV Channels.
The Watch Now screen does not really distinguish between content that you own and can watch, and just Apples general recommendations.
The easiest way to get started with Apple TV+ is to open the Apple TV app on your device, and tap on the Originals tab.
This tab takes you to the Apple TV+ channel page. This screen shows you all of the Apple TV+ shows and movies available to watch, separated into categories like comedy, drama and family fun.
Note that tv.apple.com is very stripped down compared to the native TV app on devices, and it only shows Apple original content. Both the website and the Mac TV app lack key features like the ability to skip intro or automatic next episode suggestions when you finish an episode.

I really wanted to put the new Skydance Animation family feature Luck on our list of the best shows and movies to watch on Apple TV+, but the critics were right: It’s just not that noteworthy. However, if you have a kid or kids, especially ones who love cats, you’re going to watch it anyway, and you might like it just because it keeps them happy. Fair enough! Kids movies are exempt from most criticism because they serve a specific purpose, and that purpose is to keep kids stationary for two hours. We’re just not putting Luck up there with the likes of Moana and Toy Story. You want a kids movie on Apple TV+ that is worthy of this list? Check out Wolfwalkers it’s amazing for everyone.
As for other things to watch on Apple TV+, the six-episode limited series Black Bird is now out in its entirety and definitely worth your while, and For All Mankind Season 3 wraps up its season on Aug. 12. A couple good-looking shows are coming in the next few weeks, too. The post-Katrina medical drama miniseries Five Days at Memorial is out on Aug. 12, and Sharon Horgan’s dark comedy Bad Sisters premieres Aug. 19.

In the same press release revealing its Earth Day-focused It’s the Small Things, Charlie Brown, Apple also announced an Arbor Day special.
In addition, the classic Peanuts special from Mendelson/Melendez Productions, “It’s Arbor Day, Charlie Brown,” is also coming soon to Apple TV+ in celebration of the environment, and will make its Apple TV+ debut on April 29. To celebrate Arbor Day, Charlie Brown’s baseball team turns the field into a lush garden, throwing Peppermint Patty off her game.

Which Devices Is Apple TV Plus Available On
In addition to the usual suspects iPhone, iPad and Apple TV, Apple TV Plus is available on Mac and iPod Touch. At launch, a native app is also available on Samsung TVs, with Sony and LG smart TV support coming in the near future. Amazon Fire TV, Roku and Airplay support are also confirmed, plus you can watch it through the Apple website on a browser.

What The Experts Think
The general consensus from streaming and media experts is that although Apple TV Plus has a solid lineup of original content and fantastic streaming quality, there simply isnt enough original content .
In our original Apple TV review, we noted that while it isnt exactly a runaway success, Apples streaming service is a solid contender. And it keeps adding more impressive content all the time. In addition to a unique three-episode-initial-drop content strategy to get watchers hooked fast, it also features the best streaming bitrate in the business. Plus, at just five bucks a month, Apple isnt asking much for access to its content.
That said, in our comparisons with other top streaming services like Netflix and Disney Plus , the difference in the amount of content is staggering. Although both services cost more than Apple TV Plus, their catalogs are significantly larger and constantly growing.
In fairness to Apple, the company joined the fray late, and with its focus on original content, it cant help but start slow. Its going for quality over quantity. Apple invested a lot of money into Apple Originals and many of them are truly worth watching. Disney Plus has The Mandalorian, Hulu has Handmaids Tale, and Netflix has Stranger Things and many others.
Oprah Winfrey Biographical Documentary
Apple has ordered a two-part biographical documentary on Oprah Winfrey, according to a Deadline report. Kevin MacDonald will direct.
The new doc will chronicle 25 years of American history through the lens of one show and one woman who rose from humble roots to become a globally famous talk show host, producer, actress and philanthropist.

The Beastie Boys Story

Major League Baseball On Apple TV Plus
The service will be launching its first live streaming programming later this year. When the 2022 Major League Baseball season begins, the service will show two live MLB games on Friday nights until the end of the season, with live pre-and-post game content as well. The games will be available in the US, Canada, Australia, Brazil, Japan, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and South Korea, with more countries to be added later. Apple says the games will be streamed live at no additional cost for a limited time, which likely means at some point it will charge an extra fee to watch the games.
In addition to the live games, Apple TV Plus will launch a 24/7 channel that will feature MLB news, highlights, game replays, classic games, and more. There will also be on-demand MLB programming on the service as well.

What Exclusive TV Shows Are Coming To Apple TV Plus
Only 9 shows were available at launch, with a steady stream of additional content arriving well into the future. One of the big pluses of Apple TV, pun intended, is that all that content is exclusive, new content. The shows have big stars and impressive budgets attached.
This was clearly evident during Apples initial reveal presentation of Apple TV Plus. First to take the stage was Steven Spielberg, who introduced his upcoming anthology series Amazing Stories, a remake of the 1985 NBC series of the same name.
Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon and Steve Carrell all took to the stage to discuss their drama-comedy series The Morning Show, which takes aim at sexism and inequality in a US morning show studio.
Jason Momoa and Alfre Woodward also arrived on stage to introduce the dystopian sci-fi drama See. Kumail Nanjiani lightened things up with a tight routine about his experience moving to Ohio from Pakistan before discussing Little America. JJ Abrams introduced Sara Bareilles, who performed an original track from her upcoming series Little Voice.
This section of the presentation ended with a regal introduction to TV royalty, Oprah Winfrey. Oprah is working on a number of documentaries for Apple, including workplace expose Toxic Labour, a multi-part mental health series and a Book Club series where Oprah interviews her favourite authors.
