Apple TV Plus is part of an increasingly crowded online streaming landscape. This includes the leader in the industry, Netflix, which has the advantage of having years of experience and an impressive catalog of both original and licensed content on offer.
While the service cant compare to Netflix on the sheer volume of content, it is significantly cheaper. The $4.99 subscription includes 4K and up to six simultaneous streams, while youll have to pay a full $19.99 a month for 4K content and four simultaneous streams on Netflix.

is also a major Apple TV Plus competitor. It has worldwide reach as well, along with lots of great original shows that have won several Emmy awards. Its also typically bundled with , which is an incredibly popular service for online shoppers. It even offers 4K streaming for supported content, making it a solid alternative to Apple TV Plus.
For American users, Hulu can also be a solid alternative to fill your streaming needs. The base plan is slightly more expensive at $6.99 a month, but it includes ads. Youll have to bump that all the way up to $12.99 to get ad-free streams. One of the biggest advantages of Hulu is that its frequently bundled with other services, like the very attractive Disney Plus-Hulu-ESPN Plus bundle at $13.99 a month.
Exclusive: How To Get The Apple TV App For Windows 10 Computers
Apple has been said to be working on a new Apple TV app for Windows 10 computers. Right now, the only Apple apps that are in the Microsoft app store are iTunes and iCloud.
However, thanks to a little trick found by , there is a way to get an Apple TV app for your Windows 10 computer.
The way to do this is to get and open the newest version of the Microsoft Edge browser, go to the Apple website and head over to the TV section. From there, you will see a gray bar that will have six different choices across the top. You will want to hit the Apple TV+ button, which will then take you to that page.
Once you are at the Apple TV+ page, click the three dots in the top-right corner of the Edge browser, scroll down to Apps and then you should see an option that says Install this site as an app. You click that and then you will be able to have an Apple TV app on your Windows 10 computer.
This can all be seen in the video below. It does get blurry near the end, so that is why we wrote it out for you.
Right now, this is the only known way to get an Apple TV+ app for any Windows computer, as Apple has yet to release one.

Watch Apple TV+ In A Web Browser
Aside from buying a new Apple TV, the easiest way to watch Apple TV+ is on their website. Simply open Chrome or another web browser, navigate to tv.apple.com, and sign in with your Apple ID via the sign-in link in the top right corner.
Youll use the same ID as you use for other Apple services, like Apple Music or iCloud, and if you dont have one yet, the registration link is easy to find.
Notably missing from the Apple TV website interface is any search functionality. Once youre logged in, youll have to browse around until you find something you want to watch. Fortunately, the catalog is small enough that youll be able to find what youre looking for.
What About Sunday Ticket
For one more season, NFL Sunday Ticket is still largely limited to DirecTV satellite subscribers. While that is expected to change in 2023, those who live in buildings that can’t add a satellite dish can already get a streaming version to watch football starting at $294 for its To Go package for the season, or $396 for a Max package that includes the RedZone channel . You can check your address on the Sunday Ticket site. Both packages have a one-week free trial.
The problem here, however, is that even if you’re eligible, it doesn’t include local games. You can only watch Sunday games that aren’t being broadcast on CBS, Fox or NBC in your area. They also won’t be helpful come playoff time — as you’ll need your local stations and ESPN to catch all those games.

Can I Watch On More Than One Device
Yes. Up to six family members can watch on their own individual devices through Family Sharing. Family Sharing requires all Apple ID accounts in the family to use the same credit card for all Apple content, so giving someone access to an Apple TV+ account isn’t quite as simple as sharing a Netflix account.

Apple produces its shows and movies in high-resolution 4K quality, and thats the version youll see by default whenever you play content from the platform. But if youre on a slow Wi-Fi connection or dont want to use the entire data plan, you can dial this down when needed.
On macOS, with the TV app running, click the TV menu, then choose Preferences and Playback. You can choose from three different options of video quality: Good, Better, and Best Available.
If youre watching on an iPhone or an iPad, open up Settings and select TV, iTunes Videos, and then pick the playback quality you want over Wi-Fi and cellular connections. If you want to prevent yourself from obliterating your data plan, you can use the same screen to limit playback to Wi-Fi only. While the menu refers to iTunes, the same settings apply to Apple TV+ as well.
