I have an H44 receiver. I had an issue with Alexa not changing the channels anymore and almost got a new box when the tech said I would loose my caller ID that comes across my tv screen if I got a new box. so I had him reconnect my H44 and later healed my problem about Alexa changing my channels but now I cant get caller ID to come back across my screen again. Called AT& T and she said once it was disconnected I cant get it back.
Everything is hooked back up like it was. I even unplugged the telephone base and wall jack fo ten seconds and hooked it back up hoping it would work again. Can you help me?

you can’t get it back. DirecTV has decided not to support caller ID ging forwARD. Newer boxes don’t even have a phoe connector. The HR44 will continue to support caller ID until you switch caller ID off, then it is gone forever.

If you have the 2nd generation Genie , very last box made with a phone jack, you cannot get Caller ID on TV back. The new interface removes the old outdated feature with the new software, and all boxes going forward do not have phone jacks. The HR44 is the only box with a phone jack that gets the new interface so this situation is posted in the forums from time to time by people just finding out.
However if you have any box before the HR44 with a phone jack, they keep the old software so should just be a matter of going into the Extras section of the menu to access the Caller ID on TV option.

From what I’m seeing in this forum and other places on the internet, any time you make a change to any aspect of your Xfinity “Triple Play” service, or equipment, the Caller-ID transmission to the Television are stopped. This has been happening going back to 2017, from what I can tell.
There must be a per-subscriber $$$ cost to Comcast-Xfinity for providing this service.
Anyway, in almost all cases, the customer had to call/visit/chat with Comcast-Xfinity to get the incoming Caller’s ID back on the TV Screen.
I will be doing one of those myself tomorrow.

1. CNAM
When you want the caller ID to work on your TV, you will need to call Suddenlink and make sure they have submitted your CNAM. The updated CNAM is essential for optimizing the connection and caller ID feature. Once they update the CNAM, the caller ID feature will start working.
2. Channel
While you are thinking that updating the CNAM will resolve the issue, but it doesnt, you need to tune in to the right channel. With this being said, if you want to access caller ID on your Suddenlink plan with TC, you must ensure that you are tuned into channel 1001.
3. Enable
Well, if you cannot access the caller ID feature on TV, there are chances that you havent enabled the feature at all. For this reason, press the blue button on your remote and go to the caller ID menu. Then, you can check the status by using the arrow buttons. So, switch it off and try again. On the other hand, if you cannot use this method, you can also dial *234# from your phone and it will tune in the correct settings for using the caller ID.
4. Number Management
In case youve already enabled the caller ID feature, its likely that you arent using the right settings or number management. For this purpose, open the account and hit the manage numbers option.
