Roku’s 2020 update to its high-end Ultra doesn’t change much compared to past years, not that this is a bad thing. The app store, found in the left-hand section labeled Streaming Channels, is just as quick and easy to navigate as the main menu.
The Apple TV 4K has a similarly pretty and colorful menu filled with tiles. Navigation is a bit easier thanks to the addition of a directional “clickpad” to the new Siri Remote and the A12 Bionic processor inside keeps things moving quickly. The Apple TV features recommendations from a variety of services, not just Apple’s own TV Plus subscription service, but if you don’t want to use it you won’t need to.
Both menu systems are easy and straightforward, making this a tie.

This did not work for me I have been paying for Apple TV for months and the video on Roku will not load and help section just keeps repeating the same issues. I am either going to cancel apple or go buy a fire stick and see if Apple TV will play. It is all over the internet so Roku and apple both know this is a major problem but will not fix. No videos will load on apple, but every other app works! I have no time to keep trying to fix, ridiculous that no one knows the cause or the fix, apple blames Roku, Roku blames apple.

That’s largely no longer the case since the Roku Ultra 2020 arrived, although the poorly designed Apple Siri Remote must be addressed. Now, the biggest differences come down to software and which features are included. Specifically, while Roku now supports the Apple TV app , it doesn’t include Apple Fitness or Apple Arcade. Beyond this, the top-level streaming options are about the same.

There’s a ton of reasons why Apple TV+ might not be working on Roku from problems with your internet to your remote to your Roku itself. However, there are more than a few quick things you can try out with your Roku to get Apple TV+ up and running again.
Restart your Roku. Like many electronic devices, powering off and then powering back on your device can fix any number of strange, temporary issues you might be experiencing.
Depending on your Roku, restarting it may entail shutting it off and turning it back traditionally, or it could involve you disconnecting it from power and then reconnecting it once again. Either method works.
Restart your modem and router. If you’re having internet connectivity problems it will render the Apple TV+ service to be unavailable. Most of the time resetting your router and modem will clear this up.
Reset your remote. If you use the Roku app as your remote, make sure the app isn’t having problems connecting to your Roku. Sometimes, problems can be with your input device and not Apple TV+ or the Roku itself.
