How Can I Watch It

Apple TV Explained | Everything You Need To Know

Watch Apple TV+ on the Apple TV app, which is already on your favorite Apple devices. Just open the app, click or tap Apple TV+, and enjoy the shows and movies. You can also watch Apple TV+ on streaming platforms, popular smart TVs, and AirPlay-enabled TVs with the Apple TV app or watch online at tv.apple.com.

How To Color Balance Your New Apple TV 4k

  • On the Apple TV 4K, go to Settings, Video and Audio
  • Scroll far, far down to Color Balance
  • Follow the on-screen prompts
  • Now you’ll be directed to hold your iPhone close to the TV set. When you do, the iPhone will recognize the Apple TV 4K and pop up a Color Balance screen. Tap Continue.

Next, your TV set will step you through turning your iPhone so that its front camera is facing the television. Then when it’s positioned correctly, the Apple TV will display a series of tests like a solid white color, a solid red one, and so on.

When it’s done, you’ll be presented with a final screen that has two buttons at the bottom. The screen will be showing one of the Apple TV screensavers, but depending on the button you choose, it will either preview the image as it was before color balancing, or after.

You can choose whichever you like. But the color balance one is typically very clearly the better choice.

It’s important to note that the Apple TV is not calibrating your television. It is, instead, calibrating what the Apple TV presents to your television. So, if you have other video sources connected to that television, the process will have no effect on those inputs.

After you’ve calibrated what you’re seeing, it’s easy to see for yourself how this looks. From the Apple TV 4K home screen, double-press the new back arrow button and launch screensavers.

Try a movie, too, and see what the new Siri Remote is like.

Continue Setup With Your Ios Device Or Set Up Manually

To automatically add your Apple ID and Wi-Fi settings to your Apple TV, choose Set Up with Device. Then unlock your iOS device, hold it next to your Apple TV, and follow the onscreen steps on your iOS device and Apple TV.

If you don’t want to set up your Apple TV with your iOS device, choose Set Up Manually. Then follow the onscreen steps on your Apple TV to connect to your home Wi-Fi network and sign in with your Apple ID.

If you don’t have an Apple ID, you can create one. If you forgot your Apple ID, learn what to do.

How Can I Watch Apple TV Plus

Apple TV 4K – 20 Things You Need to Know!

Every Apple TV Plus title — including Ted Lasso, Foundation, See and the rest — is available to all subscribers. Apple TV Plus has only a single, $5-a-month tier, and it unlocks the full catalog of original programming.

But unlike Netflix and other subscription streaming services, Apple TV Plus doesn’t have its own dedicated app. Apple TV Plus programming resides inside Apple’s TV app, which overall serves as a hub to watch programming from other video subscriptions, and to rent or buy movies and shows a la carte. That can be a little confusing, but the TV app has a tab dedicated just to Apple TV Plus originals, so you can find them all in one place without other stuff that requires separate payments.

Apple’s TV app is available on:

    • Apple devices that can stream video including iPhone, iPad, Apple TV streaming boxes, iPod Touch and Macs
    • Roku

Apple TV Plus is also available to watch on the web at tv.apple.com.

Ted Lasso See Foundation: What Actually Is Apple TV Plus

Apple TV Plus spends top dollar for its shows and movies, but it’s a little different than the rest of the streaming services you know. Here are all the important details.

Apple TV Plus launched in late 2019 with just nine titles to watch. It’s widened its catalog to more than five dozen.

Apple TV Plus, Apple’s subscription video service has Ted Lasso, the comedy that won a stack of Emmys on Sept. 19 See, a big-budget fantasy starring Jason Momoa and Foundation, the sci-fi show based on Isaac Asimov’s classic book series, plus other originals. But Apple TV Plus is a little different than Netflix, HBO Max, Disney Plus and other subscription streaming services. For one, Apple TV Plus doesn’t have its own dedicated app . Its shows live inside the Apple TV app.

Apple TV Plus also lacks a deep library of licensed shows and movies to dive into. The service has original programming almost exclusively, with an emphasis on big-budget, prestige shows. Its lineup of high-end originals has grown to more than five dozen titles since it launched almost two years ago, including Ted Lasso See Foundation The Morning Show, its big-budget drama series starring A-listers Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon and The Problem with Jon Stewart, the comedy host’s return to current-affairs TV among others.

Still, most other subscription streaming services have thousands of hours of programming to watch.

Here are the main things to know about Apple TV Plus.

Heres Why You Dont Need A 64gb Apple TV

The Transform Technology Summits start October 13th with Low-Code/No Code: Enabling Enterprise Agility. Register now!

If the rumors and reports are correct, Apple will begin taking pre-orders within the next few days for its forthcoming Apple TV set-top box.

Unlike the current generation model which has been reduced to a modest $65 at some retailers ahead of the new version the upcoming version of the set-top box is a callback to the first generation Apple TV in that it has a significant amount of on-board storage. In the fist generation Apple TV, the storage was meant to accommodate movie and TV show downloads from the iTunes store this time around, the storage is meant to accommodate a number of apps expected to be offered in the first-ever app store for Apple TV.

The new Apple TV comes in two storage flavors: 32GB at $149 and 64GB at $199. The biggest difference between the two will likely be how many apps you can store on the device before you reach your limit and which kinds of apps you intend to use.

Even though Apples not forcing developers to use on demand resources , it is requiring developers limit their apps to 200 MB in size. And while Apple TV does allow apps to download as much as 2 GB of data in order to unbundle and run an app, theres no persistent storage on the device meaning Apple TV tosses any unused, cached data back into the cloud when a user closes an app in order to free up space on the device.

K Upgrade Of Older Library Titles

Apple TV: 5 awesome features of Appleâs new streaming device

One feature to love about the Apple TV is the 4K upgrade on video content bought and rented via iTunes. If you have a large, pre-existing library of iTunes movies youve been buying for years, your device will automatically play them in the best image quality available. As someone who spent a ton of money on DVDsonly to spend even more switching over to BlueRaythis free upgrade is a blessing.

Even better, Apple doesnt up-charge for 4K movies. For example Mission Impossible: Fallout as a new release on Vudu costs $24.99 for the 4K edition. On iTunes, the movie can be purchased for $19.99. For digital movie collectors, this little feature in Apple TVs iTunes movies is a blessing. But keep in mind: Its only available on the Apple TV 4K.

Apple Is A Gadget Giant Why Does It Want To Become Netflix

Apple is taking aim at original video because it could be a crucial enticement for people to buy more iPhones and other gadgets. You can’t overstate the importance of the iPhone to Apple. The phone, one of the most popular in the world, still accounts for more than half its sales and was critical to Apple’s march to become the first US company worth $1 trillion.

    You Have Better Gaming Options

As we noted previously, porting video games, even iOS games, to the tvOS platform is not an especially lucrative option for developers. The Apple TV isn’t known as a gaming device, and most people aren’t buying it for gaming. There aren’t any Apple-branded gaming controllers that work with it either. So developers are largely staying away, and consumers have other options like Nvidia to look to when seeking an alternative gaming console .

Are All Apple TV+ Shows Available In 4k

Yes. Early on, Apple announced that all shows would be available in 4K HDR/Dolby Vision and that most shows would have Dolby Atmos sound, but it didnt say just how good it would be. According to FlatplanelsHDs Rasmus Larsen, Apple TV+ offers the best 4K streaming quality of any service on the market. Its so good, in fact, that the 4K bitrates are better than what youll see in some iTunes movies.

When Larsen wrote his post in November of 2019, See had the highest bitrate of any Apple TV+ show, with an average bitrate of 29Mbps and a peak of 41Mbps. Snoopy in Space averaged 13Mbps, which is impressive for a cartoon. Netflixs 4K bitrates, by comparison, tend to peak at 16Mbps.

Can I Download Shows For Offline Viewing

Yes, with a couple of caveats. Apple appears to place no limits on downloads of the same content across iPhones, iPads, and Macs owned by the same account. For example, we downloaded the same episode of Servant on all three of these devices through the TV app with no trouble.

But thats where the freedom ends. Apple doesnt allow you to download Apple TV+ content on the Apple TV, nor does it allow for it on other streaming devices, smart TVs, or when watching shows on a browser.

Shows you download to your iPhone, iPad, or Mac will be available for 30 days, after which your devices will automatically remove them. You can also manually delete them through the TV app.

Unfortunately, theres no way to change the image quality of the downloads, which can be a pain since some episodes can take up more than 3GB of space.

    How Do I Sign Up

Apple TV Plus is associated with Apple ID, which is the same log-in you’d use for iCloud or downloading apps from its App Store. If you don’t already have an Apple ID, you can create one here.

If you already have Apple’s TV app on an iPhone, iPad or Apple TV, you simply need to open the app and navigate to any of the places where Apple is prominently promoting its original shows. On newly purchased iPhones, for example, the app already knows you’ve purchased a new gadget to qualify for the deal. Whether you’re starting Apple TV Plus with a year free or just the standard one-week trial, the shows start playing in the app after a few taps.

You can also sign up and watch online with a web browser at the Apple TV Plus site.

Do I Need Apple TV If I Have A Smart TV

Do I need internet to use an Apple TV?

    Mar 30, 2021 | Apple, Smart TV

The release of the Apple TV has caused some confusion among consumers because of its name. The name suggests that the device is a standalone smart TV manufactured by Apple, but this isnt exactly the case. With that said, you may be wondering if you need an Apple TV if you already own a smart TV.

You dont need Apple TV if you have a smart TV unless your smart TV doesnt support the Apple TV app. If your TV lacks support for the app, then youll need an Apple TV device if you want to watch exclusive Apple productions or want a decent streaming box in the vein of Roku or Fire TV.

If you own a smart TV that supports the Apple TV app, then youll have access to Apple TV+, which is a subscription servicelike Netflix or Huluwithin the Apple TV app. If you own an Apple TV box, youll have Apple TV+ within the Apple TV app, Apple TV. Did you get all that? It can get very confusing but, well try and break it down.
