Many local stations offer mobile apps for watching local TV shows on your smartphone or other mobile devices for free.
CBS, ABC, NBC, Fox and the CW stations all offer mobile apps that allow you to stream local TV shows on your mobile app without the need for a subscription or a cable or satellite hookup.
Its important to note that each app works a bit differently. The CBS app allows viewers to see full episodes of their favorite CBS shows on-demand the day after they air.
However, if you want access to live streaming or to their full archives, youll have to pay for their Paramount+ package which I talked about earlier.
Paramount+ has packages starting at $4.99 per month.
The ABC App
The ABC app offers archive viewing and live stream viewing for free, however in some larger markets such as Chicago, Los Angeles and New York City you need to have a cable or satellite provider to do so.
The NBC App
The NBC app offers free viewing of recent episodes of some new shows. They also offer some older episodes and shows from your mobile device.
While live streaming and some recent episodes require mobile viewers to have a satellite or cable provider.
The Fox App
The Fox app allows you to stream most shows the day after the original airing date. However, more selections and live streaming are available with your participating TV provider account.
The CW App
And theres not an option to view more if you have a TV subscription provider.
Reset The Apple TV App Or Apple TV+ App
Resetting removes your personal information and restores the apps to their original settings. If you plan to sell or give away your device, you might want to reset the Apple TV app or Apple TV+ app. If you want to uninstall the app, you can also reset it.
If you lost or can’t access your device but are still signed in to the Apple TV app or Apple TV+ app, remove the device from your Apple ID device list.
If you reset the Apple TV app or Apple TV+ app on a smart TV that’s also signed in to the Apple Music app, the Apple Music app restores to its original settings.
How To Watch Apple TV+ On The TV Screen
Now that youve heard about the amazing content Apple TV+ has to offer, you want to be able to watch it, right? Apple TV+ is compatible with smart TVs, streaming devices like Fire TV Sticks, and gaming consoles, all you have to do is download the Apple TV app to start streaming.

Apple TV Channels And Other Content
Although theyre not technically part of the Apple TV Plus program, Apple TV Channels are a great way to get more out of your experience with the Apple TV app while waiting for more original content. It turns the service into something more like traditional cable TV, but without all the bloat.
The Apple TV Channels program is essentially an à la carte selection of TV channels and streaming services that you can subscribe to within the Apple TV app. This allows you to consolidate most of your streaming services into one place, with Apple getting a cut of every Apple TV subscription.
Its easy and convenient to subscribe with your Apple account from within the app, but your existing subscriptions outside of the app cannot be transferred over. You will need to cancel them and resubscribe through Apple TV.
However, there are a few other potential benefits to subscribing via Apple TV Channels, such as higher bitrate streams and media downloads. It also makes it easier to manage your Apple TV subscriptions from one place. Many subscriptions can also be shared with up to six family members, just like Apple TV Plus.

When Is Apple Going To Release A New Apple TV
There’s a possibility that it’ll be soon. Apple last updated the Apple TV 4K in April 2021, but it wasn’t a big update the new model looked identical but updated with a new processor and a redesigned Siri Remote. Local Channels On Apple TV Paired With An Antenna
The best way to get local channels anywhere is hands-down an antenna. No longer in common use, but If youre looking to receive local networks this maybe all you need.
Typically, the antenna plugs directly into the TV, and you dont require a streaming device to watch live local channels. While you dont have to include Apple TV in this setup, if you wish to integrate all your viewing options into one platform, Apple TV will do it the best. And here is what you would need to do?
- Connect the antenna to the OTA DVR instead of the TV
- Record over-the-air content via the OTA DVR.
