Dimensions Of TVs Length And Width

Many people are interested in what screen size the TV or monitor will have depending on the diagonal, as the diagonal does not give much information, moreover, we used to use old TV standards, with the size of the TV with an aspect ratio of 3×4. But now this standard is a thing of the past, and all new TVs are available in the standard with an aspect ratio of 16×9, monitors also have other aspect ratios, the most common monitor size is 21:9.

So, the 21:9 standard is quite popular, the 21:9 resolution monitors have a lower height, but wider, for example, a 26-inch monitor will be 2.5 inches in size. smaller than 16:9 monitors they are more suitable for tables like exel. When selecting a TV or monitor, note that the actual size of the TV will be 0.5-1.5 inches. larger due to the frame holding the screen.

In the table below, you can see what size your TV and monitor will be between 19 and 105 inches long and wide. The table can also be used when selecting an advertising screen.

TV Resolution And Screen Size: 4k 8k 1080p

Nearly all new TVs are Ultra HD 4K resolution. A growing number are 8K. Only the smallest and least expensive models are still merely HD .

To see all the detail available in a 4K or 8K resolution image you either need to sit very close, or have a very large TV. In fact, if you’re sitting nine feet away, even “big” TVs are still too small for you to see all the resolution for which they’re capable. Or to put it another way, the resolution of your next TV is going to be plenty unless you’re sitting very close, or are getting an exceptionally large TV . So yeah, you don’t need an 8K TV. If you want to know how far away you need to sit before you can no longer see individual pixels, Sony offers the following chart.

Do you want to go that big? Well, that’s a different question. I find larger screen sizes easier on the eyes, as more of your field of view is taken up with the roughly uniform brightness of the screen. In an otherwise dark room, your pupils are more naturally closed to the amount of light thanks to the big screen.

Conversely, I find watching a small screen in a dark room more fatiguing, as your pupils are more open with this one annoying pinprick of bright light . Many people complain about headaches when they watch TV in a dark room. One possible cause is the hundreds of nits from an HDR TV taking up a tiny fraction of your field of view. Think about when someone shines a flashlight in your eyes when you’ve been in the dark for an hour. With a projector, you’ve got far less light than what a TV produces, and it’s spread out over a huge swath of your vision.

True bias lights, leaving the room lights on and turning down an LCD’s backlight can minimize fatigue as well or better than a big screen, but I like watching TV in a dark room. To each their own.

How To Choose The Best 85

Best 85 inch tv reviews

When looking for an 85-inch TV, follow our TV Buying Guide tips. If you put some thought into what you need from a TV, youll be able to enjoy your purchase for years to come.

Size: First, decide if youre locked into an 85-inch model. Youll find more options in 65- and 75-inch models and often better values.

And remember to fit the TV to the room it’s in. For an 85-inch 4K TV, you’ll be dealing with a TV that measures 75 inches across, and you’ll want to be sitting at least 85 inches from the set to get a good viewing experience.

Price: Expect to pay anywhere from $1,700 to $5,000 for these 85-inch TVs, although you may be able to find some models on steep discount if you buy at the right time, like around the Super Bowl or Black Friday.

Installation: Plan to have at least one extra set of hands around when setting up an 85-inch TV all the TVs on this list weigh more than 100 pounds and are really large.

But don’t rule out wall mounting. The models here will work with standard VESA mounting brackets, including the best TV mounts.

Ports and features: All these TVs have four HDMI ports, which is generally the most youll find on any TV, and several have at least one port that supports HDMI 2.1, the latest standard. If you plan to use a sound bar, pick a TV that supports HDMI ARC, which lets you connect to the soundbar with a single cable. You may also want a TV that supports Bluetooth so you can listen on your headphones without disturbing people around you.

How To Find Out The Size Of The TV

Know your TVs Size This article shows how big your TV will be in centimeters and inches depending on the size of the screen diagonal in inches. You can understand the size of your TV and read our article about TV sizes. For your convenience, the size of the TV is shown in centimeters and inches. You can also visualize the size of the TV. For your understanding, in the figure below we have shown what size your TV will be compared to the Ford F-150. The most common TV sizes are 55, 65, 75, 85 inches.

Comparing TV Sizes: The Right Screen Format Matters

When talking about TV sizes, the screen format must be one of the first things to consider. This refers to the so-called aspect ratio, which is the proportion of width to height. Older TV screens used to have an aspect ratio of 4:3, but today, fewer and fewer media are being broadcast in this format.

The 16:9 format is currently used for flat screens. If 4:3 programs are watched using such devices, a black bar appears at each of the lateral picture edges. However, films and programs in 16:9 format can hardly be viewed sensibly on a 4:3 device. In such cases, essential picture components tend to be excluded from the display and the picture shown by the device only looks like an excerpt. So, if you plan on buying a new TV, you should definitely choose a device with the 16:9 aspect ratio format.

A special format for real widescreen television is 21:9, also known as the cinema format. However, these devices are only suitable for a real home cinema with 21:9 content. For programs in 16:9 format, either the image is distorted or black bars are displayed on the left and right.

Bottom Line: You Could Go Much Much Bigger With Your Next TV

The ultimate decision is one of personal preference. My goal here was to point out a rough idea of what’s possible or recommended. For me, I would always err on the side of “too big.” An old boss of mine used to say that no one regretted buying a TV they thought might be “too big.” My opinion is that a 50-inch TV is too small for most rooms. That’s not to say I think everyone should get a 102-inch screen, but the reality is a 50-inch flat panel is really not that much larger than the 36-inch CRTs of the old days. Since 65- and even 75-inch TVs are now far more affordable, they’re worth considering if you’ve got the space.

If you want to go really big, consider a projector instead if you’ve got control over the ambient light in your room.

At What Height Should Your Flat Screen Be Mounted

Posted inNextdaytechs Blog

The diagram defines all the parameters that contribute to the Television Mounting Height

How High should you mount your TV on the wall? Great question. Lets get after it.

In order to determine the ideal mounting height of your TV, we first need to know the size of the TV, the viewing distance from the TV, the eye level height from the floor and the reclining sitting angle.

Size of the TV

The size of your TV greatly effects the TV mounting height. When you buy a TV the size is marked on the box like 42, 55, 60 etc. If you have an existing TV and do not remember the size then you can measure it . You can find the size of your TV by measuring it diagonally and just the screen not the bevel.

Viewing Distance

The Viewing distance also contributes to the mounting height of your TV and is the distance between the TV screen and where you are sitting. The viewing distance can be based on the size of your television for optimal viewing or it can be measured from where you sitting to the wall where the TV will be mounted. The optimal VD can be calculated from the following formula:

Viewing Distance =TVS*1.67. This is the optimum TV Viewing distance which is based on your TV size or it can be measured if you cant sit at the optimum distance because of your room layout. See side view pic below.

For example if your TV size is 55 then the optimal Viewing Distance should be 92 inches .

How To Find The Right TV Size

The optimum TV size is not solely dependent on the length of the screen diagonal. Comparing sizes based on this standard alone is only possible when devices with the same aspect ratio are concerned. And so, in order to find the suitable TV size for your home, you need to consider order factors such as the size of the room, the size of the TV compartment, and even the viewing distance from the seat area.

Image resolution also plays an important role. For example, screens with SD resolution should be smaller or the distance should be larger. Otherwise, individual picture pixels become visible, which may negatively affect the viewers enjoyment while watching television. With HD-resolution devices, this qualitative problem hardly exists, which allows the purchase and use of TVs with larger screen diagonals even for areas with smaller seat spacing.

How Big Is An 85

TCL XL 85R745 85-inch 4K HDR TV Review | Go XL with TCL?

The exact height, width and depth of an 85-inch TV will vary depending on the set in question. A TV with a Mini LED backlight will be a bit thicker than a super-slim OLED screen . If a TV has a built-in soundbar, that could add some visible height and weight, while other screens may opt for more discreet placement around the TVs casing.

As an example, the Samsung Q60T QLED comes in a massive 85-inch size, and measures 108.3cm tall, 189.6cm wide, and 6cm deep which are the measurements to consider if youre going to wall-mount the screen. When placed on the included TV stand, the Q60Ts height jumps to 118.6cm, and the depth pads out to 39.2cm.

The 2021 flagship QN900A QLED, is almost identical in sizing, measuring 107.2cm tall and 187.6cm wide. It is decently slimmer at 1.54cm, but adding in a TV stand means the depth actually caps out at 34.4cm, making for a similar profile overall.

Inches And Centimeters In Comparison

One inch corresponds to exactly 2.54 centimeters. In contrast, 1 centimeter corresponds to about 0.4 inches. The unit of length differs from the American system to the metric system in Europe. Hence, a corresponding conversion makes sense. The screen diagonal values in inches are therefore always smaller than the values for the same screen in centimeters.

A television with a screen diagonal of 81 centimetres will therefore be indicated in inches as 32 inches. These are usually approximate values to avoid unnecessary decimal places. If you cannot remember the 2.54 as a conversion factor, you are welcome to memorize 2.5.

Sony X900h Series Android TV

In an 85-inch TV, the Sony X900H Series Android TV finds a sweet spot in terms of functionality and pricing. It is compatible with Dolby Vision and HDR10, and it makes use of these HDR technologies. It outperforms the X950H in terms of gaming: its HDMI 2.1 ports support ALLM and VRR, or will when a firmware update is released.

While it cant match the image quality of its more expensive brother, the X950H, it does have outstanding colour and contrast due to its full-array lighting with local dimming. If youre willing to wait for the update and have a low latency time, this might be the big TV you want to pair with your PS5 or Xbox Series X. Its bright, has excellent contrast and colour, and has a short lag time. It features HDMI 2.1 inputs and outputs. The only disadvantage is that the viewing angles are restricted.
