There’s a possibility that it’ll be soon. Apple last updated the Apple TV 4K in April 2021, but it wasn’t a big update the new model looked identical but updated with a new processor and a redesigned Siri Remote. Unfortunately, if Apple releases a new Apple TV in the near features, it’s not likely to be a huge improvement either. According to Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman, Apple this new Apple TV 4K will look the same but get a newer chipset and more RAM . It could be announced before the end of 2022.
Maybe the biggest news on the Apple TV rumor front is that, according to Ming-Chi Kuo, a well-known Apple analyst, the company is working on a new low-priced Apple TV. The most affordable Apple TV HD costs $149, and Apple likely wants to create something closer to $100, which is what many of the popular streaming sticks are priced at.
The New Siri Remote Now Supports Usb
This change could be a pro or con depending on your cable preferences, but the new Apple TV 4K’s Siri remote now supports USB-C charging instead of a Lightning connection.
USB-C charging support is found on many modern tech devices, so it’s nice to see Apple adopt a more universal connection here. However, if you’re someone who is already tied into Apple’s ecosystem, this change could actually be frustrating as it means you won’t be able to use any Lightning cables you already have.

Apple this month unveiled an upgraded Apple TV 4K for 2022 with a faster processor, increased storage and new lower price. Apple TV 4K 2022 preorders are open ahead of the device’s release next week, though you might want to consider the outgoing 2021 model with the flash sale currently going on at Best Buy. Its one-day sale drops the 2021 Apple TV 4K down to just $100 there, saving you $79 versus its retail price. The 64GB version is just $10 more, too. Those prices are being matched at and Walmart.
Apple just unveiled a new Apple TV 4K for 2022 which is coming next month, sparking a flash sale on the current-gen model. This version from 2021 is powered by Apple’s A12 Bionic chip and has 32GB of storage, Wi-Fi and Ethernet and comes with the Siri Remote. At $79 off, this is about as low as we have seen it go and worth considering if you don’t need the upgraded 2022 model — particularly if you need Ethernet or can forego the extra storage of the new model.
Idris Elba Spy Romance
Apple TV+ has landed a new spy film starring Idris Elba. Reported by Variety, Elba will both star and produce the film. The movie does not have a title yet but is being described as a “spy movie with romance” and will be set in Africa. The script is written by Travon Free, best known for his work on The Daily Show.

Is There A New Apple TV Coming
From a binary standpoint of yes or no, there almost certainly will be a new Apple TV at some point. While its far from a bestseller, Apple TV remains a relatively important option as a HomeKit hub. That is, its a method by which those in the Apple ecosystem can tie together all their smart accessories that use the HomeKit protocol.
So it would be a fairly major shift if Apple were to kill off Apple TV anytime soon. And to be clear, there have been no indications as such.
Rumors of updates to Apple TV have been pretty thin. A major one points to a Bloomberg piece about how Apple was prepping updates to a lot of products which, of course, is what Apple does. Apple TV merely got a single mention in the piece, with no other details, except to say that we could see it anytime between now and the middle of 2023.
A previous rumor from Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo points to the possibility of a new Apple TV in the second half of the year, which is anytime from now through December. That unsourced rumor points to a new version of Apple TV that improves cost structure. More on that in a second.

Apple TV Plus is one of the newer streaming platforms vying for your attention, and there’s good reason to start watching. It’s stocked with big names and some hit shows, from the first season of Severance to the heartwarmingly adorable Ted Lasso to Reese Witherspoon’s Emmy-winning drama The Morning Show.

It’s The Small Things Charlie Brown
Charlie Brown is coming back to Apple TV+ for Earth Day with a new special. Premiering on Friday, April 15, It’s the Small Things, Charlie Brown will focus on environmentalism in celebration of Earth Day and will also feature a song from singer-songwriter Ben Folds.

Brad Pitt Formula One Movie
Apple has reportedly beaten out competition from the likes of Netflix, Amazon, Sony, and more to pick up a new Brad Pitt movie all about Formula One racing. Set to involve Top Gun: Maverick director Joseph Kosinski alongside Jerry Bruckheimer, Deadline reports that the movie will see Pitt star as a driver who takes a younger racer under his wing:
Apple is in exclusive negotiations and will close the first big film package of the new year. That’s the highly competitive race to acquire an untitled pitch package that will have Brad Pitt playing a racer who comes out of retirement to mentor a younger driver and take his final stab at glory on the track as the younger driver’s teammate.

Is This Happening Or Not
We wouldnt put money on it, but mostly because its in no way a high-stakes bet. Theres absolutely nothing wrong with the current Apple TV 4K that requires an immediate product release at the next available opportunity.
Really, the announcement of a new Apple TV is as much marketing and opportunity as it is anything else at this point. September is mostly as good as October, given the niche state of Apple TV. If we dont see one by Halloween, however, we might as well wait until next spring sometime.
If youre absolutely in need of an Apple TV 4K right this second, you can for $140, which isnt a bad price at all. Itll serve you well for years.
But if you can wait or just arent in a hurry? Hang tight. A new one is coming eventually.

Apple is to launch an all-new Apple TV streaming box in the coming months, a new report claims, and it could be just weeks away.
Reliable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo from TFI Securities has just tweeted that the new box is coming in the second half of this year, that is, any time from July 1.
And the new box will have something that no previous Apple TV has had: a low price. Its not that the Apple TV is prohibitively expensive as such, but compared to rival products such as the Amazon Fire Stick, it stands out as the most expensive on the block.
Amazons Fire TV Stick 4K costs $49.99, for instance, and if you dont need 4K compatibility or TV controls in the remote, you can get it for as little as $29.99.
The latest Apple TV 4K box, in comparison, costs $179 for the model with 32GB storage, and $199 with 64GB capacity. Without 4K, the HD version is cheaper but still $149.
Quite the price difference, then.
Lets be clear, the latest Apple TV is the best version yet, by a long chalk, mostly down to the superb new remote which is the best on the market, Id say, with an excellent, highly intuitive interface, system-wide Siri, and a pleasing simplicity of buttons.

But as Kuo says, theres a need to become more competitive, so the promise of a model that improves cost structure could make a big difference.

Custom Of The Country
What its about: A limited-series adaptation of the Edith Wharton novel The Custom of the Country. The novel, published in the early 20th century, is about a midwestern girl who climbs the ladder of New York high society.
