Changing in the input mode on a TV without a remote is possible. Perhaps you have lost your remote, or the batteries have died and you don’t have any replacements. Or maybe you are just near the TV and the remote is on the other side of the room and not easily accessible. Not only can you change the input, but you can also access the volume, power and menu options from just pressing a few buttons.
Look for a keypad or panel of buttons on your TV. Depending on the brand of your TV, these buttons will be located on either side of the screen near the back.

Pressing the button once brings up the input menu, and subsequent presses just scroll up and down the list. Once you are on the desired Source… just tap the Volume button.
This will dismiss the menu

I also have an LG TV and it has been a bit of struggle with the Ignite TV Voice Remote not being able to control the inputs. I also have two Samsung TV’s and those units do not have any issues at all with the input commands from the Ignite TV Voice Remote.
I have attempted the workaround from and it did not work on my TV but once the correct input is selected turning the TV off and then back on again will dismiss the Input menu. I also have an LG TV Plus App downloaded on my Android device which adds a lot of functionality including a digital remote control for the LG TV you can control on your phone.

Sony TV Menu Without Remote
If you have Sony TV you may not be able to access the Menu using physical buttons as physical buttons of this brand come with limited functionality.
Sony TVs have either one or three physical buttons usually that are located on the body of the TV.
You can change volume, channel, or input source on your Sony TV using these buttons. Sony models with single buttons also come with many controls but you cant use everything as it is on a remote.
You can change things using physical buttons but it is not recommended method and you may not be able to access the menu.
The best way is to use your smartphone as a remote control if an IR blaster is available in your smartphone.
The other best solution is to get a replacement remote or use a universal remote. All these alternatives will enable you to access the menu on your Sony TV.
