What Apple TV Plus Shows And Movies Are There
Apple TV Plus is heavily reliant on Apple Originals, which is a mixed bag of comedy and drama series, feature films, documentaries, and kids’ fare. The size of Apple TV Plus’s library may pale in comparison to Netflix’s or Hulu’s but some Apple Originals have already been met with acclaim from viewers and critics.
Perhaps the most well-known Apple Original outside of the aforementioned Ted Lasso, is its flagship drama, The Morning Show, which boasts a star-studded cast of Jennifer Anniston, Reese Witherspoon, and Steve Carell. It’s garnered a number of awards and nominations, including a Primetime Emmy win for Billy Crudup .
Other standout shows on Apple TV Plus include the animated musical series Central Park from Loren Bouchard , Peabody Award-winning comedy Dickinson starring Hailee Steinfield, and the Ronald D. Moore science-fiction drama For All Mankind.
Apple Original films have been capturing attention lately with the release of Palmer starring Justin Timberlake, The Banker featuring Anthony Mackie and Samuel L. Jackson, and the Beastie Boys Story directed by Spike Jonze.
Meanwhile, the upcoming Martin Scorsese Apple Original movie Killers of the Flower Moon has added Robert De Niro, Leonardo di Caprio, and Lily Gladstone to its cast.

How To Subscribe To Apple TV Plus
You’ll need the Apple TV app running on a compatible device and an Apple ID with a credit card on file. If you have those things, just go to the Apple TV app, find the Apple TV+ content, and follow the onscreen prompts.
The monthly cost of Apple TV+ will be billed to your on-file credit card, just like any other services you’ve subscribed to through your Apple devices.

You can subscribe to Channels through the Apple TV app using your Apple ID. You can use Channels without subscribing to Apple TV+, or in addition to it.

Which Devices Will Apple TV+ Be Available On
In addition to the usual suspects, iPhone, iPad and Apple TV, Apple TV+ is available on Mac and iPod Touch. At launch, a native app was available on Samsung TVs.
Sony and LG smart TV support has since become available too. Amazon Fire TV, Roku, Google TV and Airplay support are also confirmed, plus you can watch it through the Apple website on a browser.
Since launch Apple TV+ has had an app made available on gaming consoles. The PlayStation 5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S are all compatible.
As mentioned above, all Apple TV+ titles will be available for offline viewing.

Available Apple TV Devices
There are currently two different Apple TV models for sale, the Apple TV HD and Apple TV 4K. Both come with an Apple TV remote that holds microphones for Siri, a touchpad for navigating, and buttons for controlling volume, menus, and more. But the Apple TV 4K is the more advanced model, and we recommend it if youre considering a purchase.
What Are Apple TV Channels
Apple will soon offer optional add-on subscriptions similar to what Amazon does with its Prime Video Channels. Youll be able to pay for HBO, Showtime, and other services using your Apple account. Now, you can already subscribe to those networks on iOS and from their respective Apple TV apps, but there are benefits to doing it through Apples new TV app method.
For one, you can share access to your Apple TV Channels with up to six family members. Second, instead of having to watch content from those Channels across several different apps, everything will be viewable right inside the TV app. And last, youll be able to download shows for offline viewing.
Apple showed a slide of Apple TV Channels that it plans to offer, and Ive put the heavy hitters in bold below:
- Acorn TV
- Up Faith and Family
- Urban Movie Channel
Its a weird mix, but it at least puts Apple at par with Amazon. If you like TV shows from any of the services above, youll be able to watch that content directly inside the Apple TV app. And Apple says it will deliver top-tier picture and audio quality for all Apple TV Channels since its handling the streams for Channels directly instead of relying on HBO, CBS, Starz, etc. Combine that with the option to download content for offline viewing, and you can see why people might opt to start handling their subscriptions through Channels.

What Services Does Apple One Include
Apple One individual and family subscriptions include Apple Music, Apple TV Plus, Apple Arcade, and iCloud . Premier plans include all those services and Apple News Plus, Apple Fitness Plus, and iCloud storage up to 2TB.
Heres a brief description of each service:
Apple Music: Apples music streaming service includes access to more than 70 million songs, curated playlists, and cloud access to purchased music from iTunes. It usually costs $9.99 a month for an individual plan and $14.99 a month for the family plan.
Apple TV Plus: Apples premium subscription streaming service is full of exclusive TV shows and movies. It doesnt exactly replace Netflix, but its one of the cheapest video streaming options at just $4.99 a month. This is the only plan available, and it includes up to 6 family members, 4K streaming, and media downloads.

Apple Arcade: This mobile-first game subscription service includes more than 100 games to download and play offline on your iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Apple TV, or Mac. It usually costs $4.99 a month, including up to 6 family members.
iCloud: Apples cloud storage service includes 5GB of storage for free, with several different upgrade plans. It normally costs $1 a month for 50GB, $3 a month for 200GB, or $10 a month for 2TB.
If You Could Only Pick One Which Streaming Service Would You Choose
Apple has always kept user numbers close to the chest, so its difficult to tell just how successful Apple TV Plus has been with everyday users. Complicating matters further, most current Apple TV Plus subscribers are still on their free year. This means that subscriber numbers could tank when the first wave of free trials expires.
In May of 2020, we asked our own readers at Android Authority which streaming service they would pick if they could only pick one, and Apple TV Plus captured less than 1% of the vote . Most users commented that the library was simply too small, although it might fare better as a second or third subscription for those who cant get enough content.

There are, of course, other ways to gauge interest in the service. One is Google Trends, which tracks search volume for certain keywords. Apple TV Plus spiked when it was first announced, then again when the service launched. Its done nothing but stagnate since then, even in the face of a global pandemic where everyone is at home streaming media.
Compared to another service that launched around the same time Disney Plus Apple TV plus is barely a blip on the radar. Its failed to grab public attention, either due to a lack of compelling material on the platform or a lack of a big marketing push from Apple.

Best Apple TV Plus Movies
Apple TV Plus doesnt have as many movies as its competitors, but it does have a respectable selection of original films to stream right away. Check out our list of the best Apple TV Plus movies for trailers and more, but heres a brief list of what you can expect on the platform:
- The Banker A drama inspired by true events about two black businessmen in the 1950s who find creative ways to combat racism in pursuit of the American dream. It stars Samuel L. Jackson and Anthony Mackie.

What Is On Apple TV Plus
Arguably the most important part of any streaming service is the content subscribers get for their money. As mentioned above, Apple did not have a library of classic titles that it could rely on to help build out its streaming service, but what it has done is spend big money on developing original content and acquiring titles that can serve as Apple TV Plus exclusives.
When the service launched in November 2019 there wasnt as much as other streaming platforms had to start with, but Apple TV Plus has grown since then, with a number of its shows and movies becoming big hits.

It should also be noted that Apple TV Plus is the streaming home for Peanuts cartoons. In addition to Snoopy in Space and The Snoopy Show, this includes streaming the classic Peanuts holiday specials. After a bit of a controversy with viewers complaining that the classic Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas episodes would be removed from broadcast in favor or Apple TV Plus, the streaming service announced that in addition to offering the holiday specials to its subscribers, all of the holiday classics would air once on PBS around their respective holidays as well as be available for free to all interested viewers for a limited time on Apple TV.

What Exclusive TV Shows Will Be Coming To Apple TV+
At the launch for the Apple iPhone 13 on 15 September 2021, among other things, it was revealed the programming that would be on Apple TV+ in the coming season.
The wildly successful Ted Lasso was highlighted, along with debuts or new seasons of titles like The Morning Show, The Problem with Jon Stewart, Swagger and new Tom Hanks project Finch. You can see the highlights in the clip below.
Only nine shows were available at the launch of Apple TV+, with a steady stream of additional content arriving well into the future. One of the big pluses of Apple TV, pun intended, is that all that content is exclusive, new content. The shows have big impressive budgets and have big stars attached.
This was clearly evident during Apple’s initial reveal presentation of Apple TV+. First to take the stage was Steven Spielberg, who introduced his upcoming anthology series Amazing Stories, a remake of the 1985 NBC series of the same name.
Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon and Steve Carrell all took to the stage to discuss The Morning Show, which takes aim at sexism and inequality in a US morning show studio.
Jason Momoa and Alfre Woodward also arrived on stage to introduce the dystopian sci-fi drama See. Kumail Nanjiani lightened things up with a tight routine about his experience moving to Ohio from Pakistan before discussing Little America, and JJ Abrams introduced Sara Bareilles, who performed an original track from her upcoming series Little Voice.

Is All Apple’s Content Family
