Lebron James And Steph Curry Go Head To Head
Jed Jacobsohn/Associated Press
The biggest story heading into the play-in tournament is the matchup between Los Angeles and Golden State.
Because of a string of injuries, the Lakers find themselves on the outside looking in as they start their quest to return to the NBA Finals. On Wednesday, LeBron James and the defending champions will have to contend with an even more unlikely opponent in the Warriors, whom most viewers wrote off after Klay Thompson sustained a season-ending Achilles tear.
Although losing their second option for two years in a row was a blow to the former dynasty, Stephen Curry has had a phenomenal season. The two-time NBA scoring champion shattered records and netted 38 30-point games as he propelled his team up the standings.
The eighth-seeded Warriors have a tall task ahead as they move on to face a dangerous Lakers team and possibly the top two teams in the West. But the two-time MVP’s historic run will make Golden State difficult to count out.
James and Curry’s rivalry has been at the forefront for the past seven years, so what were the odds that they would have to face each other in hopes of entering the playoffs this year? This matchup will make the second play-in tournament a must-watch event. Their showdown isn’t a sudden-death game, but the seventh seed and a chance to avoid the Utah Jazz could make all the difference for either team.

Nba Playoffs : Preview TV Channel Finals Live Stream
Updated on: July 4, 2021 by Rocky Guha
The 2021 NBA playoffs are scheduled to begin on Saturday, April 17 with the first-round action in both conferences. The NBA Finals are slated to start on Thursday, June 3. The leagues top 16 teams will compete to determine the 2020-21 seasons NBA champion.
How do the NBA playoffs work?
The top 16 teams in the league at the end of the regular season qualify for the playoffs. The top eight teams in both the Eastern Conference and Western Conference advance to the postseason. The teams are seeded No. 1 through No. 8 in each conference.
In the first round of the postseason, the No. 1 seed in each conference plays the No. 8 seed. No. 2 plays No. 7, No. 3 faces No. 6, and No. 4 plays No. 5. The higher seeded team has the home-court advantage with the first two games at home and then Games 5 and 7. All playoff series are best-of-seven games.
In the second round, the winner of the No. 1-No. 8 series plays the winner of the No. 4-No. 5 series. The No. 3-No.6 winner faces the No. 2-No. 7 winner. The teams that win those series then face each other for the conference championship.
All playoff teams must identify their playoff roster prior to the beginning of the postseason. Teams can carry 15 players of which two are made inactive for each game. A player is eligible to be on a playoff teams roster if he has been on that teams roster for at least one regular-season game and was not on the roster of another team after March 1.
