This app does a lot of things that the new and ruined TV Guide does not do, but it has a few shortfalls that others have addressed. I highly recommend this app as the necessary companion to TV Guide. If I could only have one TV app, Id pick this app.One problem that plagues both apps is inaccurate information when the source of the listing data is obviously wrong in other words, the apps display what the network source provides. I used to blame TV Guide but this app has the exact same inaccuracies, so its definitely not the fault of the app.PRO:The presentation of this app is user-friendly: dark type on light background. This app also gives you real details about the program content, not just the name of the episode, season number, and episode number. The only plot & cast details TV Guide provides is for movies, which is useless for normal TV shows.CON:TV Guide displays more high-level information per screen, so theres less scrolling there and gives you a good idea about whats showing. With this app, it takes longer to see the overall schedule and theres a lot more scrolling. When you have over 30 channels that you watch, this is a real problem.CONCLUSION: You need both apps. Use the TV Guide to see the big picture and also for movie details, and use this app for TV show details.

It wouldnt be Christmas TV without a Julia Donaldson/Axel Scheffler adaptation, and this looks like it will go down as smoothly as a chocolate Baileys. Narrated by Olivia Colman, with Matt Smith and Rob Brydon in support, it follows the adventures of an intrepid lumbricina as he saves his garden chums with his powers of flexibility and contortion. Just like Fantastic Four except our heros greatest threat is a trowel.

It’s impossible to pick a favorite character from What We Do in the Shadows, FX’s vampire comedy that’s adapted from a cult New Zealand mockumentary film. Go on, try. Is it Nandor , the warrior from the Ottoman Empire who doesn’t know how to use email? Nadja and Laszlo , the horny couple who are repeatedly put to the test by Nadja’s undead lover and bicker like they’ve been married for centuries? Guillermo , the devoted human familiar who is also a descendent of the Van Helsings? Or Colin Robinson , the energy vampire who drains people by boring them? No one is wasted in the show, especially in the superb second season that fleshed out each character and proved that the silly series is more than just one joke. The kitschy special effects, the absurd predicaments, and the supernatural comedy are wonderful, but it’s the cast and characters that make What We Do in the Shadows one of the best shows right now. âTim Surette
